Our mission was to raise money for cancer research and have an awesome time doing it. Yung Elvis kicked-off the evening with fuzzy, guitar heavy, rock anthems that caused the crowd to hoot, holler, and jump up and down. It was a rad performance that should make Philly proud to be the home of such a talented group.
After a quick set change and a few words from our emcee, Anthony Hughes, the groovy, Brooklyn-based musicians known as Surf Rock is Dead took the stage. Their dreamy vibes, excellent instrumentation, and impressive arrangements left the audience in awe. They will be playing a show at The Barbary soon!
Finally, Summer Scouts, from Allentown, PA, rounded out the evening with a high energy performance. Donning all black, surrounded by elegant neon lights, the Summer Scouts delivered a rock-infused, beat-driven, emotional message that kept each fan engaged. They were also kind enough to share their personal experience with cancer, inspiring a very positive and communal environment for the rest of the evening.
We can’t wait till our next show! Hope to see you there.
